The ongoing ‘Bharatha Vishwaguru Sankalpa Siddhi Mahayagam’ on Siddhartha educational group’s Puttur campus in Tirupati district witnessed special prayers on Thursday, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birth star.

According to the organisers, the ‘mahayagam’ was being performed to pray for the health and longevity of Mr. Modi, and enable him to make India a developed country (Viksit Bharat) and also let it emerge as a knowledge super power ‘Vishwaguru’.

‘Ayushya Homam’, ‘Mruthyunjaya Homam’ and ‘Laksha Tulasi Archana’ were performed in the name of Mr. Modi from 8.30 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by spiritual oration by ‘Brahmasri’ Kuppa Viswanatha Sastry on the topic ‘Dharmam Punaravalokanam’.

In the evening, BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav unveiled a statue of Sri Venugopala Krishna at the venue and also performed ‘gopuja’ to the cattle. He recalled that the day also marked Mr. Modi’s 25 years in public service first as Chief Minister of Gujarat and then as Prime Minister.

Equating Mr. Modi to stability, governance, development and welfare, Ashok Raju, chairman of the educational group and BJP State vice-president, said perpetuation of his government would help make India a global leader.
