‘Pushpa Yagam’, ‘Akalmasha Homam’ performed as part of nine-day ritual in Tirupati

The ‘Pushpa Yagam’ and ‘Akalmasha Homam’ were performed on the eighth day of the nine-day ‘Bharatha Vishwaguru Sankalpa Siddhi Mahayagam’, which is currently under way at the Puttur Siddhartha Educational Group campus in Tirupati district on Tuesday.

The nine-day ritual is being conducted with the objective of making India a global super power. Rituals such as ‘Varuna Yagam’ and ‘Srinivasa Kalyanotsavam’ were witnessed by scores of devotees.

“The Akalmasha Homam is meant to remove bad thoughts from the minds of individuals and to address the various forms of divisions in the society, while the Pushpa Yagam, observed at the end of the event, is intended to offset any negative effects of lapses in the rituals observed during the eight days, Siddhartha Educational Group chairman K. Ashok Raju said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.V.N. Madhav participated in the Pushpa Yagam. He carried a flower basket on his head and offered them to the priests for use in the ritual. TTD trust board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy also attended.

The Mahayagam ends on Wednesday with the ‘Poornahuthi’ ritual.
