The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) found ₹1.35 crore in cash, foreign currency and about 14 litres of foreign liquor during searches linked to a disproportionate assets case against Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Police Computer Services.
The searches, conducted at 10 locations in Hyderabad and Zaheerabad, focused on the residences of suspected benamis who allegedly had financial and other transactions with the DSP.
According to the ACB, ₹1.35 crore in cash was found at the residence of one Bomma Venkatesh. Foreign currency and approximately 14 litres of foreign liquor were also found during the searches.
Officials also seized several documents and other items which, according to the agency, form part of the evidence relating to suspected benami assets.
The searches were carried out in pursuance of warrants issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, and were a continuation of earlier searches in the case.
The ACB had registered the disproportionate assets case against Bheem Reddy on June 27, 2026, through its City Range-II, Hyderabad. The case was booked under Sections 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018.
The recovery of foreign liquor has also prompted the involvement of the Excise Department. The ACB said the department had been informed for necessary action and that a case was likely to be registered by the Excise authorities in accordance with law.
The ACB said the investigation was continuing.
