Trust earned through serving people is BJP’s strength: Nitin Nabin

Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Nabin on Friday (September 25, 2026) said the trust earned through “serving the people” was the party’s strength, based on which every BJP worker was confident that the public would give it the mandate to serve the nation for decades to come. “The transformation in people’s lives translates into their blessings and votes for the BJP,” Mr. Nabin said.

Mr. Nabin hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the BJP’s recurrent return to power, while addressing a ‘Seva Sankalp Sabha’ at Dadiya near Jaipur. “The Leader of Opposition has asked why the BJP governments keep returning to power. We are asked how we can make the claim of serving the people for the next 25 years with such confidence,” he said.

“This confidence comes from serving the people… It comes from winning their trust and working for them,” Mr. Nabin said while questioning Mr. Gandhi’s claim about anti-incumbency. He said the BJP’s confidence stemmed from welfare measures taken in various sectors and changes brought in people’s lives.

The BJP president said the welfare benefits extended by the party-led government at the Centre were reaching the people through direct benefit transfers. “More than 4 crore houses have been constructed for the poor, toilets have been built for 12 crore poor families, while 75 lakh street vendors have benefited from the PM SVANidhi scheme, ensuring access to the banking system,” Mr. Nabin said.

Mr. Nabin applauded the ruling BJP’s performance in the recent urban local body elections in Rajasthan, while affirming that the results were a testament to the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He said the electoral victories should be seen as opportunities to serve the people rather than gaining power.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Sabha’ commemorated the 110th birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, the leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which was the forerunner of the BJP. Besides CM Mr. Sharma, BJP State president Madan Rathore and several other party leaders and public representatives attended the programme.

Mr. Nabin later attended a ‘Yuva Samvad’ (youth dialogue) programme at B.M. Birla Auditorium in Jaipur and went to the Chief Minister’s residence to preside over an organisational meeting with the BJP MPs, MLAs and divisional in-charges and co-in-charges. According to party sources, the organisational matters and strategies for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections were discussed at the meeting.
