All Women Police, Vandalur, arrested a 19-year-old youth on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in an agricultural field in Somangalam.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, she had been in contact with the accused, identified as S. Muthusamy, of Nandambakkam, Kundrathur, via Instagram and phone calls for about a month.
The accused allegedly took the girl to an agricultural field on the night of September 24 and sexually assaulted her.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at All Women Police Station, Vandalur, and investigation was taken up. Muthusamy was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
