App connecting organic farmers in Telangana with customers to be launched by govt.

The Telangana government in a few days will launch a mobile app (TG Organics) to connect organic farmers with customers. People can select vegetables, fruits, or pulses they want, to get a list of the organic farmers concerned in a selected radius, location of the farm, their phone number and other details. Farmers will get to decide the prices. Currently, around 500 farmers have enrolled, and more are expected to get on board. Around 100 products would be available on the app.

Details of only the farmers certified through the Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Agency (TGSOCA) would be made available there. The TGSOCA’s app may have provision for further filters such as district, mandal.
