The Mysuru district administration will formally invite Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji of Gavimath, Koppal, to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara – 2026 on October 11.
Mysuru district In-charge Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Deputy Commissioner and Dasara Special Officer G. Lakshmikantha Reddy and members of the Dasara Welcome Committee will visit Gavimath at 11 a.m. on October 3 to personally extend the invitation to the seer.
The delegation will request the seer to inaugurate the Dasara festivities, the district administration said.
Meanwhile, the administration on Monday offered the invitation card for Mysuru Dasara-2026 to Goddess Chamundeshwari at the Chamundi Hill temple, seeking her blessings for the successful conduct of the festival.
The invitation card, prepared by the Dasara Reception Committee, was taken to the temple, where officials performed puja and sought the deity’s blessings for the smooth conduct of the Dasara programmes.
Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Yukesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aishwarya R. and others were present.
