Two youths were killed after their two-wheeler collided with a vehicle near Valanadu in Tiruchi district on Friday night. The names of the victims were given as M. Kathar Maideen, 23, and K. Absher, 20, both residents of Melur.
According to the police, the two were returning home after visiting Tiruchi when the accident occurred near the Soriyampatti bridge on the Tiruchi–Madurai National Highway. They reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rammed a vehicle moving ahead.
Both died on the spot. Valanadu police shifted the bodies to the Manapparai Government Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
