A 54-year-old woman died after being run over by a water tanker in Madhavaram on Saturday night. Police said Sarala, a resident of Mandaveli, was walking along the Madhavaram – Red Hills Road. The tanker hit her when she tripped on a stone and fell. Sarala was killed on the spot. Madhavaram Traffic Police sent the body to Government Stanley Hospital for a post-mortem and are searching for the tanker driver who escaped from the spot.
