A.P.’s first ‘Pain Clinic’ opens at KGH in Vizag

Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Sunday inaugurated the State’s first ‘Pain Clinic’ at King George Hospital (KGH) on Sunday, for patients suffering from chronic pain and cancer-related pain. He appreciated the Andhra Medical College Alumni of North America (AMCANA) for donating ₹1 crore towards the establishment of the ‘Pain Clinic’, which he described as commendable.

During the inaugural programme, Mr Satya Kumar lauded the support of alumni of various medical colleges, for supporting the development of government medical institutions in the State. He said that a special committee would be formed in the coming days to strengthen cancer care services, with a focus on chemotherapy, radiotherapy and pain management. He reiterated that strengthening the government medical colleges and ensuring quality healthcare for the poor remained the primary objective of the NDA government.
