The AEPC has welcomed the Interest Subvention Scheme announced for MSME exporters on Friday with immediate effect, and said it will give financial relief to the garment exporters.

Interest subvention of 2.75% is allowed on both pre-shipment and post-shipment export credit for MSME exporters. The maximum interest subvention benefit admissible is ₹50 lakh for a MSME exporter in a financial year. MSME manufacturing exporters and merchant exporters falling under the notified positive list of HSN – 6 digit tariff lines are eligible and the Reserve Bank of India will issue master directions for implementation of the scheme to all banks.

A. Sakthivel, chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council, said, “This timely intervention will provide significant financial support to MSME exporters, especially at a time when the industry is passing through a challenging phase. This initiative will go a long way in improving liquidity, reducing financing costs, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Indian apparel exporters.”
