Alagappa University VC unfurls national flag

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur at Alagappa University in Karaikudi on Monday. Vice-Chancellor G. Ravi unfurled the tricolour flag and accepted the Guard of Honour presented by the NCC cadets and the students of the university.

After the ceremony the Vice-Chancellor delivered the Republic Day Address in which he emphasised that the Republic Day reminds the people not only of the formal adoption of the Constitution in 1950 but also of the centuries of our history, culture and resilience that have defined India.

“The Republic Day is a powerful reminder of our duties as responsible citizens. The Constitution has given us rights, but it also insists us to uphold discipline, dignity, and unity in our everyday lives. Today India is moving forward in every field–education, science, technology, healthcare, economy and digital development–but real progress of the nation depends on the honesty, integrity hard work and character of its people. On this Republic Day, let us promise to build an India that is strong in values, rich in knowledge and united in diversity,” he added.

Mr. Ravi also said that the youth of our nation must lead a life with courage, compassion and relentless quest for excellence. The historical discoveries made in Tamil Nadu are not just archaeological milestones but they are reminders about the future we dream of and we must embrace and build upon the wisdom of our past, he noted.
