An advanced CCTV Control Room was inaugurated by Anakapalli MP C.M. Ramesh at Anakapalli Town police station with funds from his Local Area Development Scheme (MP LADS) here on Sunday (December 21).
Through this control room, 80 CCTV cameras installed across the town will be monitored round the clock to strengthen surveillance and maintain law and order. The control room was set up as part of the police department’s modernisation efforts aimed at crime control and ensuring women’s safety, the police said.
Additionally, 55 stopper boards provided by Nagarjuna Cements under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative were also made available for traffic regulation and road safety.
Superintendent of Police P. Tuhin Sinha said the use of advanced technology would help the police respond swiftly and effectively in crime detection. He said the connectivity of these 80 cameras would help not only in traffic regulation but also in providing faster assistance through 112 emergency services. He expressed gratitude to the MP and the management of Nagarjuna Cements for supporting the police department.
Mr. Ramesh said public safety remains the top priority in the rapidly developing Anakapalli. He emphasised that with the support of technology, the police should curb crimes more efficiently and promised that the district police would always receive full cooperation from public representatives.
Former MLA and chairperson of AP Urban Finance Committee Peela Govinda Satyanarayana was present.
