Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) L. Siva Sankar received the National Energy Conservation Award–2025 on behalf of the State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) from President Droupadi Murmu, at a programme organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on the occasion of the National Energy Conservation Day on Sunday.
Andhra Pradesh (AP) was adjudged the best performer in Group II, an achievement that highlighted the State’s sustained commitment to energy conservation, climate action, and institutional excellence. Andhra Pradesh stood on top with total final energy consumption between 5 to 15 Million Tonnes of Oil Equivalent (Mtoe).
An official release from the Energy Department said the SECM achieved the distinction by consistently delivering impactful energy efficiency programmes across multiple sectors under the guidance and leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand.
