Apollo SHINE foundation partners with health platform to drive preventive care for college students

Apollo SHINE Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative of the Apollo Hospitals group, has announced a partnership with an AI-driven health and nutrition platform, to promote preventive healthcare efforts among students at DG Vaishnav College, Chennai.

The initiative aims to support students identified as ‘at-risk’ for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through a screening program by Apollo SHINE and providing them early access to ‘EatGPT’ digital health platform by Tweak & Eat.

Early NCD risk markers

Indira Jayakumar, Medical Director, Apollo SHINE Foundation, said that findings from screening of over one lakh college students across India highlighted a growing prevalence of early NCD risk markers, including obesity, pre-diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome, among young adults. “This needs urgent need for timely, actionable interventions beyond diagnosis,” she said.

Narayanan Ram, CEO, Tweak & Eat, said the platform, integrated with EatGPT, provides coaching solutions, enabling users to upload photographs of their meals for instant nutritional analysis and actionable tweaks related to portion size, food substitutions, and balance. The platform also provides personalised meal plants, consultations with certified nutritionists, customised exercise routines, and tracking of key health parameters.
