The demonstration centres for the Electronic Voter Machines (EVMs) have been set up at the Sub Collector’s office and the Revenue Divisional Office in Hosur and Krishnagiri, respectively. The centres, opened on Wednesday (January 21, 2026), have been set up under the orders of the Election Commission of India to create awareness on the operation of the EVMs ahead of the State Assembly Elections, 2026.
Starting from January 25 (National voters day), a mobile unit of a van comprising of six EVMs each will tour through the six constituencies to create awareness.
A total of 45 EVMs have been designated for Thally, Hosur and Vepanapalli assembly constituencies and 60 for Uthangarai, Bargur, and Krishnagiri assembly constituencies.
Earlier, Collector C. Dinesh Kumar supervised the deployment of the EVMs to Hosur for the campaign. The Collector urged the voters to utilise the opportunity and familiarise themselves with the machine.
