Karnataka government’s Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST) has selected BLDE Association’s Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology for research grants of around ₹30 lakh.
This is under the ‘Karnataka Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Higher Educational Institutions’ (K-FIST-L1) for a project titled ‘Low-cost Smart Pavement Condition Assessment using Vision Sensors and Fuzzy Logic-based Decision Support System’. The Principal Investigator is Asif Iqbal Momin, Professor, co-Principal Investigator is Arun S. Bagi, both from the Department of Civil Engineering.
The ‘Early Career Research Award’ (ECRA) will go to a project titled ‘Indian Sign Language Recognition with Multi-modal Video-based NLP-driven Kannada Translation’. Principal Investigator is Shilpa Kaman and co-Principal Investigator is Hemavati Biradar from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
The governing body of the BLDE institution, Principal Manjunatha P., Vice-Principals Leena Ragha and Pradeep V. Malaji, and the Heads of Departments congratulated the faculty members.
