All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi has said that the shared vision and ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Sree Narayana Guru were the driving forces in the historic struggle for the fundamental rights of the marginalised communities in Kerala.
Speaking at the logo launch for the upcoming Sree Narayana Guru-Mahatma Gandhi Meeting Centenary and All-Religion Conference here recently, she said the convergence of these two saintly minds provided the ultimate solution for the eradication of untouchability in the region.
The grand centenary celebrations and the multi-faith convention are being jointly organised by the Sivagiri Madhom, Priyadarshini Foundation, and the Congress. The event is scheduled to take place at Asramam, Kollam, during the final week of February.
The logo release ceremony was presided over by District Congress Committee president P. Rajendra Prasad. United Democratic Front convener Adoor Prakash, MP, Jnana Theertha Swamikal of the Sivagiri Madhom, and Congress secretary P.V. Mohan also spoke on the occasion.
