Centre’s nod sought for HC Bench in Kurnool and NGT Bench in State

A delegation of BJP Legal Cell, led by P.V. Pratap Reddy and U. Srinivasa Raju, met Union Minister of Law & Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal here on Saturday, and requested him to consider approving the establishment of a High Court Bench in Kurnool and a Bench of the National Green Tribunal and Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunal in Andhra Pradesh, and take steps for the implementation of various advocate welfare schemes.

They also asked Mr. Meghwal to have Income Tax and Commercial Tax Appellate Tribunals in the State, and to take steps for expediting the enactment of the ​Advocates’ Protection Act to ensure the safety of the legal professionals. 

Further, the delegation requested the Union Minister to make a recommendation to the State government to allocate house sites for advocates.

Mr. Meghwal invited the Legal Cell representatives to Delhi for further discussions, while assuring them to discuss the matters with the respective Ministries.
