A 60-year-old man was killed and four others injured in a clash over a land dispute at Erukkalankadu Medu, near Seenapuram, in Perundurai on Sunday.
The deceased, Krishnasamy of Seenapuram, sustained severe injuries and died at the spot. The injured — Parthiban, Mohan, Rangasamy and Tamilarasu — were admitted to the Perundurai Medical College Hospital.
According to the police, Krishnasamy and his relatives were involved in a dispute over land. The issue resurfaced on Sunday morning and led to a confrontation between the two sides. Members of both groups allegedly attacked each other, leaving five people injured.
The Perundurai police recovered Krishnasamy’s body and sent it for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
