The ‘Thaimaaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam’ was launched at Sivaganga Government Medical College Hospital on Monday, with Collector P. Akash distributing gold rings to newborns.
Under the first phase, gold rings were presented to 30 babies at the hospital and to 52 at Karaikudi Government Hospital. Around 100 gold rings have been allocated to both facilities. To facilitate the process, invitations detailing the specific dates and locations are being issued to the mothers through their regional Primary Health Centres.
The event witnessed the participation of Dean Kalavani, District Health Officer Meenakshi, Resident Medical Officer Rafeeq and other officials.
