Collector highlights sports’ role in development of children

A play event titled ‘Spoorthy Play Fest’ for children from Nursery to class 5 was organised at Visakha Valley School in Visakhapatnam on Monday (December 29, 2025).

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, who is also on the Board of Governors of the school, highlighted that sports play a great role in the health and overall personality of students. Sports instil discipline, teamwork, and resilience, the values that shape children into confident and balance individuals, he added.

School Principal Eshwari Prabhakar said that every child should work on one sport for a better well-being. The children presented various cultural events on the stage, according to a statement issued by the school.
