A sense of camaraderie and communal harmony prevailed in Kadapa on Tuesday (September 22, 2026), when Ganesh idols were taken out in a colourful procession along the city’s streets ahead of Nimajjanam.
Sensitive pockets in the city were put under police surveillance and the procession passed off without any untoward incident. Members of several communities joined the procession and exchanged pleasantries.
Kadapa MLA and Government Whip Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy took part in the ‘Shobha Yatra’ taken out from NGOs Colony. She offered harati to the Vinayaka idol and prayed for global well-being.
She also appealed to the public to offer prayers with utmost devotion during the Vinayaka Chavithi festival, rather than for show. Several young women walked with her in the procession.
