A guidance and coaching centre for government competitive exams will be launched at Hasanur in the Thalavadi hills on Saturday (September 26) to help youth in the hill villages land government jobs.
The initiative is taken up by Sathyamangalam-based NGO Service Unit for Development Activities in Rural (SUDAR).
Youth who have completed college and those who have passed classes 10 and 12 can use the centre, which will spread awareness on various Central and State government recruitment exams, provide information on notifications and eligibility, and assist candidates in registering for the examinations.
The centre will function from the premises of the Government Tribal Residential Higher Secondary School at Hasanur. In association with the Coaching and Guidance Centre for Adi Dravidar and Tribal Communities in Coimbatore, special coaching classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays.
The coaching will cover exams conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and other Central government recruitment agencies, besides examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
The centre will also provide guidance on employment opportunities and competitive examination preparation. The initiative is expected to provide hill youth with access to structured coaching and information on government recruitment opportunities.
