Compulsory OTR updation for all, TGPSC tells aspirants

The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Monday has instructed all candidates registered in its One-Time Registration (OTR) system to compulsorily update and validate their data.

All future notifications, applications, results and final selections will be based on the candidates’ unique OTR data, the Commission said. According to it, there are about 31.65 lakh candidates registered in its data system.

The mandatory updation of these details, the Commission noted, is in view of the recent categorisation of Scheduled Castes and changes in educational qualifications of the candidates.

“This initiative is part of the Commission’s efforts to ensure faster completion of recruitment processes, early declaration of results and timely issue of appointment orders and to avoid delays caused by data discrepancies and incomplete documentation,” it said.

The process to update the OTR must include verification and correctness of candidate’s personal, educational, and category details, all eligible and additional qualifications, uploading all relevant certificates including a latest colour passport-size photograph.

While the last date to complete this mandatory exercise was February 2, it has now been extended to February 25.

As a rule, each candidate would possess only one OTR, which is valid till it is cancelled by the candidate or the Commission, for any reason.

It also cautioned that not all existing data would be editable and a candidate can only add, enhance his/her data by uploading additional qualifications, changes in correspondence address and communication, EWS status, and details related to the category.

Candidates must exercise utmost caution while uploading and editing the data as the updated OTR will be treated as the primary and final data, and will be considered for all future notifications, the Commission said.

All edit actions will be permitted within the stipulate deadline — February 25. More details are available on the Commission’s website (https://www.tgpsc.gov.in/).
