Congress carries out protests in Mangaluru, Udupi

Congress workers on Monday carried out protests in Mangaluru and Udupi demanding action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for reportedly disregarding the opinions of two other Election Commissioners regarding the process of Special Intensive Revision.

The Congress workers, led by Dakshina Kannada District Congress president R. Padmaraj, marched from Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) Circle to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Padil. MLC P.V. Mohan addressed the party workers. Later, the party workers burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Kumar. A group of party workers submitted a memorandum to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

A similar protest was held in Udupi, in which Udupi District Congress president Kishan Hegde Kolkebail and other party workers took part.
