Vizianagaram District Congress Committee president Maripi Vidyasagar on Sunday expressed confidence that the Congress would regain its strength in the district and across the State, as people were disillusioned with the TDP, JSP, BJP and the YSRCP. He was speaking at a meeting organised at the party office, where he hoisted the party flag on the occasion of the party’s Foundation Day.
Addressing party workers, Mr. Vidyasagar alleged that development in the district had come to a standstill since 2014, with both the TDP and the YSRCP implementing unproductive schemes that, he said, imposed a heavy financial burden on the exchequer. He said the party was in the process of appointing booth-level committees with the objective of securing a decent number of seats in the ensuing local body elections.
