A consultative meeting on the En Oor En Kanavu Scheme was held with all departmental officials at the Salem District Collectorate on Tuesday (February 3, 2026).
Speaking at the meeting, Collector R. Brindha Devi said the project aims to make note of the aspirations of the 1.91 crore families residing in rural and urban areas. The door-to-door visit will help document their suggestions in a mobile app. A government order has been issued and the Mudhalvarin Mugavari Department will coordinate the implementation of the project, she added.
Under the scheme, thematic conferences will be held at the State level on rural and urban infrastructure, language, culture, education, skills, social inclusion, fisheries, agriculture, employment and business with the participation of international, national and State-level experts, academicians, and elected representatives. The departments concerned will take steps to implement the plans and to prepare the District Vision Document 2030 and the State Vision Document 2030, the Collector said.
Stating that this project is a platform to capture the aspirations of the younger generation and empower them through support mechanisms and policies, the Collector said that the Department of Youth Welfare and Sports Development will coordinate the project. To implement this scheme, the Mudhalvarin Mugavari Department, in collaboration with the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, will recognise and commend distinguished achievers at the district level, and consultative meetings will be held with elected representatives, officials, private experts, and practitioners to prepare the District Vision 2030 Plan and District-level Action Plan Document.
Through these events, all the vision plans will be integrated and be released in Chennai by the Chief Minister along with the State Vision Plan. The Collector added that all departmental officials have been asked to work together to implement these plans effectively and contribute to the future development of the district.
