The State government has sanctioned ₹9.96 crore to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died due to COVID-19. The scheme envisages providing ₹5,000 per month for three years, via bank transfer, to BPL families that lost their primary breadwinner to COVID-19. The funds were allocated from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund based on reports submitted by the District Collectors of Kozhikode, Ernakulam, and Pathanamthitta.
