A district-level grievances committee has been established for claims against seizures of goods and cash in Krishnagiri. The committee convenes every 24 hours to ascertain the claims brought by owners and upon verification of the documents produced, the seized cash is released. Addressing the media, District Election Officer and Collector C. Dinesh Kumar said that as of date, seven cases involving seizure of ₹56 lakh has been restored to the owners.
Over two lakh freebies including sarees were seized cumulatively from Bargur, Thally and Vepanapalli constituencies. A police investigation is underway and FIR has been registered. Upon confirmation of the involvement of the political party concerned, an FIR will be registered against the political party, the Collector said.
