Officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) on Tuesday arrested Dharumanandham, Regional Transport Officer of Karur, on the charge of accepting a bribe.
According to sources, he allegedly demanded ₹5,000 from a private bus transport operator of Pasupathipalayam for reducing the quantum of tax for a bus. The bus owner lodged a complaint with the DVAC officials. Officials laid a trap and arrested Dharumanandham when he received the bribe. Further investigation was on.
