Efftronics poised to tap emerging opportunities in diverse fields

Buoyed by the completion of 40 years of its stellar journey that began in mid-1980s as a leading manufacturer of LED display boards in the country, Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd. (ESPL) is gearing up to tap emerging opportunities in diverse fields.

Formed on December 15, 1985, ESPL is today the largest provider of data logger systems and Internet of Things (IoT)-based solutions to the Indian Railways, in which it carved a niche for itself, and has up to 70 products in other fields.

So far, ESPL made a turnover of approximately ₹1,700 crore, according to its founder-CEO D. Rama Krishna.

Addressing the media on ESPL office premises at Mangalagiri on Sunday, Mr. Rama Krishna said R&D has been the company’s backbone and it saved up to an estimated ₹30,000 crore for the national exchequer by making the products entirely with indigenous technologies.

ESPL tasted its first major success in the supply of IoT-based petroleum distribution system to the BPCL in 1990 and followed it up with the railway signalling project in 1995.

The solutions being offered to the Indian Railways helped in reducing accidents to a large extent and in punctual running of trains. The company was in the process of implementing a Remote Diagnostics and Predictive Maintenance system in 600 stations in the Southern Railway Zone.

The IoT solutions developed by ESPL for the digital transformation of industrial sector were at par with those being sold by some MNCs to Indian customers at exorbitant costs.

Mr. Rama Krishna said ESPL has gained expertise in the development of granular data required for the rollout of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies, at 20 to 30 milli seconds sampling rate six years ago.
