District Election Officer and District Collector S. Kandasamy has urged voters to verify their details in the draft electoral roll published recently and submit the necessary forms for name inclusion and corrections during the special camps to be held on December 27 and 28.

According to a release from the Collector, the draft electoral roll contains a total of 16,71,760 voters across all eight Assembly constituencies in the district. Voters whose names do not appear in the list may apply for inclusion by submitting Form-6, along with an affidavit and any one of the 13 supporting documents notified by the Election Commission of India. Eligible persons who will complete 18 years of age as on January 1, 2026, may also apply for inclusion using Form-6 with an affidavit.

For deletion of names from the electoral roll, Form-7 may be submitted. Form-8 can be used for correction of name, change of address, linking of mobile numbers, change of photograph, or correction of part number.

Voters can verify whether their names are included in the electoral roll by sending an SMS to 1950, visiting the website voter.eci.gov.in, or by checking with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) concerned and at designated locations where the electoral rolls are displayed.

All required forms have been supplied in sufficient numbers to the BLOs, and completed forms may be submitted directly to them. In addition, special camps will be held at all 2,379 polling stations across the district on December 27 and 28. On these days, BLOs will be present at the polling stations along with the draft electoral rolls to assist the public.

Applications for inclusion can also be submitted online through voter.eci.gov.in or via the Voter Helpline mobile application. The district administration has appealed to the public to make full use of this opportunity and ensure that their names are correctly included in the electoral roll.
