A former police officer was arrested by the Cheranalloor police for allegedly vandalising the windshield of a woman’s car following a dispute over parking.
The accused, Bijoy, a resident of Cheranalloor, was reportedly expelled from the force in 2021.
Mr. Bijoy allegedly objected to the woman parking her car on the road near his house on Friends Road in Edappally North Village, saying it obstructed his way. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Monday, the police said.
The accused was booked under charges relating to wrongful restraint, uttering obscene words in a public place, sexually coloured remarks and criminal intimidation.
He was produced before the court and remanded in custody.
