‘Family first’ for Congress and ‘Nation First’ for RSS and BJP: Bandi Sanjay

Union Minister of state for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his remarks contrasting the Congress and the Sangh Parivar, saying the Congress placed the Gandhi family above the nation.

In a post on social media platforms, Mr. Sanjay said: “For us, it is Nation First. For Congress, it is always Family First,” and alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy was asking people to fight and sacrifice only for the Gandhi family.

Referring to the Sangh prayer, he said a swayamsevak was taught from the beginning to dedicate himself to the motherland. He quoted the Sanskrit lines, “Mahamangale punyabhume tvadarthe, Patatvesha kayo namaste namaste,” and explained them as a pledge to dedicate one’s body to the service of the country.

Mr. Sanjay said the Sangh Parivar’s commitment was to “Bharat Mata, the nation, unity and security” and asserted that “no political family can be bigger than the country and no surname can demand the nation’s sacrifice.”

His statement came in response to Mr. Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks on the ideological contest between the Gandhi Parivar and Sangh Parivar, while speaking at a programme in Keralam.

BJP state chief targets Revanth

Meanwhile, BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao termed Mr. Revanth Reddy’s comments ‘laughable’. Mr. Rao, who is in Australia on a tour, said the CM’s statement clearly demonstrates to the public the difference between the family-centric, selfish politics run by Congress and the selfless patriotism practised by the Sangh Pariwar.

“For the Congress Party, politics begins with a single family. But for us, national interest is always paramount far above any single individual or family,” Mr. Rao asserted. He said the Sangh Pariwar does not run on anyone’s surname or a single family’s legacy. It is an organisation built on the sacrifices of generations of party workers who dedicated their lives solely to social service, nation-building, and discipline.
