The A.J.K College of Arts and Science will be hosting a five-day marine life exhibition titled ‘Aazhiyil Oru Thadam’(A Footprint in the Deep) at its Navakkarai campus, starting January 23.
The exhibition will provide an in-depth look into the lives of rare marine mammals, such as dolphins, whales, and the elusive dugong. Organisers have included high-resolution photographs and scientific data gathered from field research to enhance the experience. Additionally, the college has integrated virtual reality modules, allowing visitors to observe dugongs in their natural habitats.
The event also has a dedicated section honouring the life and legacy of the late R.S. Lal Mohan. His pioneering research at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute laid the foundation for the conservation of marine mammals in Indian waters.
The exhibition will be open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on all the five days.
