Flying squad seizes ₹3.5 lakh unclaimed currency at Bellampatti bus stand in Dharapuram

A Flying Squad deployed for Dharapuram byelection seized a wad of currency notes amounting to ₹3.5 lakh at Bellampatti Bus Stand in Kundadam Panchayat here on Friday (September 25, 2026).

The Flying Squad handed over the seized cash to the Dharapuram Tahsildar and Returning Officer Ramalingam.

Officials suspect that the cash was meant to be distributed to voters, and that wad of currency could have been thrown out by any of the campaign teams of political parties during vehicle checks undertaken by the Flying Squad.
