A joint team of forest personnel and local police seized hunting equipment during a raid at Kurmapalli village in Peddapalli district on Saturday.

The cordon-and-search operation was conducted following directions from senior Forest Department officials. According to a press release, the seized equipment included nets, snares, knives, iron cages and binding wire.

Following the operation, the officials organised an awareness meeting for villagers as part of the Wildlife Week.

Speaking at the meeting, Peddapalli Forest Range Officer T. Satish Kumar urged the public to actively participate in protecting forest resources and wildlife. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in wildlife poaching.
