Four police personnel, including a sub-inspector of police, have been transferred to Armed Reserve police on charges of dereliction of duty.

Inquiries reveal that Superintendent of Police E. Sundaravathanam recently received a complaint that a special investigation team formed to detect theft cases in the Orathanadu police sub-division had not taken steps properly to ensure the return of seized properties.

On departmental inquiry, the SP found the complaint was true and ordered the transfer of the four police personnel to Armed Reserve, sources said.
