The Goshamahal Police Stadium complex, where several infrastructure projects including a modern stable for 48 horses and a five-storeyed City Armed Reserve (CAR) building are under construction, is expected to be fully equipped and operational by October 2027.

Director General of Police C. V. Anand, who inspected the stadium on Monday, expressed concern over delays in the ongoing works, and directed officials and engineers to expedite construction.

Apart from the stable complex and CAR building, the projects being developed uon the premises include dog kennels and facilities for sports, games and athletics.

The DGP also reviewed preparations at the stadium for Police Commemoration Day, which will be observed on October 21 in memory of police personnel who died in the line of duty.

During the inspection, the DGP reviewed the proposed venue for the commemorative ceremony and discussed arrangements for the main stage, entry and exit points, parking and the movement of dignitaries and other participants.

Officials were directed to clearly designate access routes and make arrangements for the movement of visitors and police personnel, besides coordinating among departments to manage the expected gathering.

The DGP instructed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the October 21 programme while continuing the infrastructure works at the stadium in a time-bound manner.
