Govt decides to order CBI probe into PPAs and construction of power plants during BRS regime

After Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme, the State government has set its eyes on the power purchase agreements and the alleged irregularities in the construction of the Yadadri and Bhadradri power plants.

The State Cabinet has resolved to entrust a probe into the alleged irregularities in power purchase agreements and construction of the two power plants to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The decision follows an in-depth discussion on the report submitted by Justice (retd) Madan B. Lokur which inquired into the charges of misappropriation of public money in power purchase from other States as also in the construction of the power plants involving huge public money.
