Gulbarga University contract staff dismissed over sexual harassment

A contract employee working as a peon in the Department of Physics at Gulbarga University has been dismissed from service following a complaint of sexual and mental harassment made by a Scheduled Castes student.

The accused, identified as Vijaykumar Kadaganchi, is said to have been harassing the student for over a year. In a written complaint to the Registrar, the student stated that the peon used to approach her inappropriately, make remarks about her body and behave in an objectionable manner.
