Expressing displeasure over the functioning of a tribal school in Paderu mandal of Alluri Sitharama Raju district, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Paderu Project Officer T. Sripooja suspended the Headmistress on Thursday.
Ms. Sripooja conducted a surprise inspection at the Government Tribal Welfare Ashram (GTWA) School at Bangarumetta village. She inspected the classrooms and interacted with the students about the facilities being provided, their problems and academic progress.
Ms Sripooja found that teaching was ineffective and that academic standards were not met. She learnt that students were unable to understand the lessons properly.
Expressing displeasure over the lapses in school administration, the PO ordered the immediate suspension of the Headmistress. She severely reprimanded the teaching staff and warned that negligence in teaching responsibilities would not be tolerated.
She made it clear that providing quality education to students is the collective responsibility of the staff and that strict action would be taken if there was no improvement in performance in the coming days.
Earlier in the day, the PO inspected an RMP clinic at Gootulaputtu and found that it was operating in violation of norms. She examined the medicine stock, registration documents, and qualifications of the practitioner. She found that the individual was providing medical treatment without possessing the minimum required qualifications and without a valid licence.
The PO directed the officials to initiate stringent action against the illegal clinics across the Agency. The clinic was immediately sealed, and legal proceedings were initiated against the person concerned.
