Hopeful of action against MLCs B.K. Hariprasad, S Ravi, says Pratapsimha Nayak

MLC Pratapsimha Nayak said he was confident that Legislative Council’s Ethics Committee will take action against MLCs B.K. Hariprasad and S. Ravi for their alleged misconduct while Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot was leaving after his joint address of legislature on January 22.

Talking to reporters in Mangaluru, Mr. Nayak said the alleged misconduct of the two MLCs blocking the way of Governor and their unruly conduct before the constitutional authority was in full view of the legislators and Chairman of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti. “We have given application to Mr. Horatti seeking suspension of Mr. Hariprasad and Mr. Ravi. This application has been referred to the Ethics Committee of the Council. We are hopeful of a positive action by the Committee,” he said.

Condemning the conduct of Mr. Hariprasad , Mr. Nayak said it was disgraceful and unbecoming of a experienced person like Mr. Hariprasad. After marshals pushed Mr. Hariparsad aside, he was caught on camera tearing his shirt. Mr. Hariprasad was falsely accusing BJP legislators of tearing his shirt, he alleged.

The Congress Government has deliberately created controversy over Governor not delivering the full text of the speech given by the Cabinet. The Government is not interested in deliberating on the issues concerning people or on Vikasit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VG GRAM G), Mr. Nayak said.
