NTK chief coordinator Seeman gets the blessings of his mother before filing nomination for Karaikudi Assembly constituency in Devakottai Sub-Collector’s Office in Sivaganga district on Monday.

“I do not want the votes of those who consume alcohol; the votes of good citizens are enough,” said Seeman, chief coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) and candidate for Karaikudi Assembly constituency.
Speaking to journalists after filing his nomination at Devakottai Sub-Collector’s Office on Monday, Mr. Seeman asked: “Can ₹8,000 coupons buy back the lost honour, or the mountains and the sand that have been sold, or the lives of those who died after consuming liquor?”
Why were they (The DMK) auctioning the honour of Tamils? he asked.
“Why give ₹4,000 to an educated person who is unemployed? You should give him job instead. Not a single person has given a promise to close liquor shops. It is cruel to rule using the money obtained by making people drink,” he said.
While there was already a debt of ₹10.50 lakh crore for Tamil Nadu, to provide the newly announced freebies, several more lakh crores must be borrowed again, he said, adding: “They borrow money and project it as ‘development’.”
Borrowing money was equivalent to mortgaging Tamil race. A good government was not the one that provided relief after a flood occurred; it should prevent it in the first place, he remarked.
“Taxes on essential commodities have increased. It is a deficit budget; why have not they been able to provide self-sufficiency? Through freebies, they have made the entire population beggars. Those who think they want caste and religion, go to them. Those who think they want humanity, come to us,” he said.
“Due to the drinking habit, Tamil people have lost their capacity to work. They are bringing in people from northern states and giving them jobs. Now, they have given them voting rights through Special Intensive Revision. Next, they will hand over the power of governance to them. Those driven out of Eelam came to T.N. If we are driven out from here, where will we go? In this situation, you are running the government with ₹50,000 crore of Tasmac revenue,” he commented.
Nothing that there was a potential to earn ₹3 lakh crore in revenue through dairy industry, Mr. Seeman said instead of implementing that, they bought from neighbouring States. “If we come to power, palm milk, coconut milk, buffalo milk, and donkey milk will be popularised,” he added.
