IIT-Tirupati team bags the first prize at IPE-The Hindu FIC quiz

The team from Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT-T), represented by Krishna Sameer and Navaneeth Sivadas, bagged the first prize at the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) – The Hindu Future India Club (FIC) Quiz-2026 conducted at Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) campus in Tirupati on Monday (February 02).

Nihal Kumar and T. Harshath Sai of Vignan University, Guntur, were declared runners-up in the closely-held competition, while K. Pavan Kumar and G. Jaswanth (Emerald’s Degree College, Tirupati) had to be content with the third place.

They were followed by Aditya Patil and Ayush Kumar (IIT-Tirupati) in the fourth place, J. Naveen and B. Teja Kiran (Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Science, Tirupati) in the fifth place and Y. Bhagyalaxmi and M. Bhuvana Reddy (SPMVV School of Engineering and Technology) in the sixth place.

As the participants exuded energy and maintained poise while responding to the questions shot by the quiz master Gautam Bose, members in the audience also vied to be quite vocal and expressive.

Some questions turned out to be really tough, giving anxious moments to the participants, but the correct answers proved to be richly rewarding in terms of points.

The ‘Power Play’ section had its own advantage when the questions were bypassed to others, but some teams had to face a bumpy ride, with the minus points proving to be a disadvantage.

The edge-of-the-seat pressure and the all-round effort to get the situation back into control were quite palpable among the participants, while the consistent accumulation of points by any team failed to dampen the spirit of others.

SPMVV Registrar R. Usha, who is also a professor of biotechnology, gave away the prizes to the winning teams and termed such events as ‘helping the students get brighter and sharper’. P. Mahesh, Associate Professor (Marketing), IPE, also took part.
