HYDERABAD
Minister for SC Development and Tribal Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar and Choppadandi MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana participated in the Pravasi Prajavani on Friday and reviewed the implementation of the grievance redressal programme.
During the programme, the Minister and the MLA interacted with officials and petitioners and reviewed the grievances being received from citizens, including those seeking assistance in matters concerning Indians stranded and affected abroad.
A family from Hasnabad village in Jagtial Urban mandal approached the Pravasi Prajavani seeking assistance in bringing home the mortal remains of Vavilala Sudarshan, who reportedly died in the Ukraine war on September 1. According to the family, the Ukrainian Embassy had advised them to pay ₹6 lakh towards the transportation of the mortal remains to India.
Sudarshan’s wife Bhargavi, mother Gangu and village sarpanch Bathula Gangadhar approached the Pravasi Prajavani seeking government assistance. Mr. Laxman Kumar assured the family that he would take up the matter with the officials concerned in the Chief Minister’s Office and initiate necessary steps to extend assistance.
According to officials, as many as 127 petitions were received on Friday. Of the total petitions, 47 pertained to the Revenue Department, 15 to the Energy Department, 14 to the Home Department and 51 to various other departments.
