
The announcement came a day after the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) put the fare hike, scheduled to come into effect on February 9, on hold following public protests and political pressure.

Amid a political confrontation between the ruling Congress and the BJP over the proposed hike in Namma Metro fares, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Monday announced that metro fares would be recalculated afresh using the formula followed by the Delhi Metro.
The announcement came a day after the BMRCL put the fare hike, scheduled to come into effect on Monday, on hold following public protests and political pressure.
