Union Minister for Education Pralhad Joshi on Friday said that a bankrupt Karnataka government is trying to pass the buck on the Centre to hide the State’s financial mismanagement.
Replying to a question on the State government seeking financial aid from the Centre to address worsening drought situation in Karnataka, Mr. Joshi said the State government has not shared details pertaining to the number of taluks affected and the extent of deficit rainfall.
He said that the government should provide all these details and a team would come to access.
He added that the centre has always been supporting the State government especially with the infrastructure projects.
“It is the failure of the Finance Department which is working under the Chief Minister. It has stated that the government has no money and has become bankrupt. Is this the statement of Pralhad Joshi, is this the statement of the Centre or is it the statement of Nirmala Sitharaman? It is the statement of your own Finance Department,” he added.
