The Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Police have registered a missing person case after a 47-year-old man reportedly left his residence on Sunday (December 28, 2025) and failed to return, with his family later finding a handwritten note expressing distress over financial and personal issues.
According to a complaint lodged by his wife, Thota Divya, 40, a private teacher, her husband Thota Naveen Kumar, 47, who worked at CBJ Gold and Diamonds, left their home in Addagutta, KPHB Colony, at around 11 a.m. on his motorcycle.
Before leaving, he told her that he had kept money in the cupboard and asked her to buy medicine for their younger son.
Police said that after some time, the complainant opened the cupboard and found a letter written in Telugu, in which Naveen Kumar expressed anguish over his inability to meet family responsibilities, including his children’s education and medical needs. In the note, he alleged that the staff at his workplace had taken ₹50,000 in cash and gold ornaments from him and stated that his concerns about his son’s medical treatment were not addressed.
Based on the petition, KPHB police registered a missing person case and launched an investigation. Officials said efforts were on to trace his whereabouts and verify the contents of the note as part of the inquiry.
